TPG Becomes New Sponsor for Scott Lutz Motorsports

New for this year, TPG Telecom has become a proud sponsor of the Scott Lutz Motorsports team based out of Jonestown, PA. When Scott Lutz reached out to us we were excited about the opportunity. Not only do we love sprint car racing, but we’re thrilled at the chance to help support a local cause that has true meaning to us. Being a family operation ourselves, seeing generations of Scott’s family sharing his passion is refreshing and motivating.

 Scott Lutz Motorsports

Scott Lutz started racing at the end of 1988 in enduros. Basically, you would take a streetcar and strip it down and run 100 laps. The first time he raced was at Penn National Speedway in Grantville and he finished 7th out of around 150 cars! The number 33 was chosen in honor of his father, Carl Lutz who raced using the same number.

“I have raced since before my kids were born so it has always been a part of their life. Now the grandkids are into the sport also.” – Scott Lutz

Scott Lutz’ passion for racing all started with this man, Carl Lutz. We’re sure he’s smiling down every time Scott climbs into his own #33.

“My dad raced and my grandfather was a car owner at one time and fielded cars for a number of drivers. My dad ran the #33 so that’s how I picked it.” – Scott Lutz

Scott Lutz Championship – Clinton County

Scott Lutz has raced at around 65 different tracks since he started racing and in 11 states. He normally follows the Laurel Highland Series. Scott Lutz has won many different awards and championships over the years – he has won 4 out of the last 5 Laurel Highland championships and was the Pennsylvania state champion and the Maryland state champion! Scott Lutz’s type of sprint car follows the RaceSaver® Sprint Series rules, which keep points across the country and states – he has not been out of the top 25 in the country since he started running the series in 2015. He has even finished 2nd and 3rd in national points!
